Taking place on October 21, 2018, this annual event celebrates families and fall. Events include the pumpkin derby; children’s costume parade; storytelling; pumpkin carving demonstrations; carnival style games; pie-eating and mummy wrapping contests; and live music.
The Northern Nevada Center for Independent Living (NNCIL) introduced PumpkinPalooza to Northern Nevada in October 2012 as a fun family fall event that also publicizes NNCIL and what this vital organization does for the community. The inaugural event attracted nearly 1,500 people, indicating a definite demand for en event of this kind. 2013 attracted 5,000 people, more than 8,500 in 2015, 13,500 in 2016 and more than 15,000 in 2017. This is a great way to show your clientele that you support your local community, while also getting the opportunity to meet with them one-on-one at PumpkinPalooza itself. The Pumpkin Derby was featured in the Food Network magazine in 2017, as one of the top fall events in the country!
